On June 21, 2024, the regular Olympic Day, organized by the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee, took place in the area of ​​Lake Kuchajda in Bratislava. As every year, the representatives of SZOŠ also participated in this event. Members of the ŠK Farmaceut Bratislava and ŠK Sandberg clubs prepared an orientation labyrinth for visitors and a track for the finalists of the Olympic Versatility Badge for their final discipline - orienteering. I would like to thank the members of the mentioned clubs for their efforts and at the same time invite all of yours to the Olympic Festival, which will be held in the same space during the Olympic Games in Paris. Orienteering sports will be presented as part of the festival on August 1, 2024.

The SZOŠ Presidency approved the nomination for the World Junior Orienteering Championships - JWOC 2024, which will be held from July 1 to 7, 2024 in Pilsen, Czech Republic. Under the leadership of coaches Dušan Sláma and Tobiáš Goldschmidt, we will be represented by (W20) Rebecca Herna, Barbora Zelníková, (M20) Filip Bukovac, Filip Jančík, Tomáš Kasza and Tomáš Syrový. We wish them the best of luck and the best placements!

On Thursday morning (June 20, 2024), our team headed by national team coach Dušan Sláma left for the European Youth Orienteering Championships - EYOC 2024 in SZCZECIN, Poland. Competitors were nominated for the team (M18) - Tomáš Syrový, Filip Jančík, Matej Balogh, Daniel Šmelík, (M16) - Ján Dokupil, Michal Marko, Samuel Michač, (W18) - Nina Jurčíková, (W16) - Maja Volkova, Ema Jonášová , Zina Máčajová. Our competitors will have a long track on Saturday (22/06/2024), a sprint on Sunday (23/06/2024) and relay races on Monday (24/06/2024). Let's all keep our fingers crossed for them!
